Gongzula Fm
Type Locality and Naming
It was named by Liang Dingyi and others in 1991. The named section is located in the western slope of Mayangpusela, Zhada County, Tibet.

Lithology and Thickness
It is dominated by tuffs and sandstones, and can be divided into five lithological members from bottom to top: Member A is composed of medium- and thick-bedded marl, sand-bearing tuffs, and thin-bedded tuffs; Member B is composed of thin-bedded muddy fine sandstones and marl sandwiched between shales; Member C is composed of quartz sandstones and feldspathic quartz sandstones sandwiched between tuffs; Member D is composed of coral tuffs, internal clastic tuffs, and oolitic tuffs; Member E is thick-bedded clastic tuffs sandwiched between quartz sandstones. Thickness greater than 560 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The middle and thick marl at the bottom is in consolidated contact with the underlying Mangxiangyu Fm (Zhada) or underlain by the Duorang Gr (on schematic stratigraphic section).
Upper contact
The thick tuff at the top is in consolidated contact with the overlying Lower Jurassic Pusela Fm
Regional extent
It is mainly distributed in Mayang, Jiesheng, Busy Zongrong, Busy Xiangye and Bolin in Zada County, Tibet. The Co-Footla Fm is a thickly bedded dolomitic tuff with a thickness of more than 100 m. Its stratigraphic position is equivalent to the Member E of the Co-Footla Fm in Mayang, Zada.

Fossils
Member A produces Ammonoids Anatomites corolli, A. cf. brocchiiformis and bivalves Neomegalodon sp., N. triqueter mayangensis; Member B produces Ammonoids Arcestes cf. rothpletzi, Stenarcestes cf. polysphinctus, etc. and bivalves; Member C produces the coral Thecosmilia sp.; Member D is rich in corals and bivalves, the latter can be built Indopecten-Monotis combination; section E only sees bivalves ?Palaeonucula misolensis and Procardia cf. rhaetica and a few other molecules.

Depositional setting
This group is a shallow marine sediment. It is a lagoonal-lacustrine sediment.
